As Contra Costa Health Services (CCHS) continues to evaluate their health orders to keep our community safe and healthy, the Contra Costa Community College District (4CD) relies on their guidance to adapt and refine our response to the COVID-19 pandemic. As such, the Governing Board adopted a resolution at its November 9, 2022 meeting to suspend the vaccine mandate effective January 2, 2023.
Effective November 10, 2022: Students registering for spring 2023 classes are not required to submit proof of vaccination or apply for an exception in order to enroll in in-person classes.
Beginning January 2, 2023:
Any student or employee can access any 4CD facility regardless of their vaccination status.
Students and employees with approved medical or religious exemptions no longer need to test on a weekly basis.
Employees will no longer be required to submit proof of vaccination. COVID-19 is still here in our community, so 4CD continues to strongly recommend employees and students to be fully vaccinated, including the latest booster shot, as one of the best ways to prevent severe illness. We also fully support voluntary mask wearing, and have plenty of free masks, self-test kits and hand sanitizers at all District sites.
